Imposters is a print series celebrating art and artifice. Printed posters juxtapose images of Derek Brahney’s 2020 Brushstroke artworks with information advertising entirely fictional exhibitions by various pseudonyms of the artist. Exploring ideas from semiotics and the relationship between form and content, the Brushstroke works fuse painting, photography, collage and sculpture into hybrid image-objects—and Imposters add an additional layer that builds upon their masquerading nature. Each is printed in an edition of 10.
